The Schorr Reading Rally goal is to promote both students’ reading achievement and our school’s AR program. Students read a book of their choice and take an online comprehension quiz administered by the Renaissance Learning Accelerated Reader (AR) program. The school will use the funds raised towards our AR program renewal for the following school year.
Reading Rally - 3 Steps to Success
1. Sponsors: Students ask friends and family to sponsor their reading
-Sponsorship forms go home Friday, February 7th
-Sponsorship forms due Friday, February 14th
2. Read-Read-Read: Students read and take (AR) tests from February 10th-March 7th
-1st -5th grade will calculate books read based on AR tests/points
-Kindergarteners will use weekly reading logs to track number of books read.
-Return Logs to teachers every Friday & teachers turn into library Friday mornings.
3. Collect: Gather sponsorship money for books read
-Collection envelopes go home Monday, March 10th
-Sponsorship money due no later than Friday, March 14th
